The third and final stereo input can only be taken from USB, and used to blend with the aux bus or mix bus with PFL. Last but not least, the Allen & Heath ZEDi-10FX is built to last. It should be able to handle most of the reasonable abuse you can throw at it, which is good news considering the people who will buy a small-format console like this are probably people who are also on a budget. Sound M1-M2-L-R = USB channels 1&2 are sourced directly from the preamps of M1 and M2 then USB channels 3&4 are the stereo main LR mix. Allen & Heath's marketing blurb suggests that the ZED series is 'perfect' for live mixing, and while that might be hyperbole, it would certainly serve well in that capacity, where most of the effects and the tap tempo would certainly come in handy. The level knobs are inevitably more fiddly than faders, though, and I know which I'd prefer to have on a dimly lit stage! However, I think that the primary market for this mixer should be the home studio, and anyone looking to make decent‑quality band demo recordings.

Conclusively, with the ZEDi-10FX, Allen & Heath offers a small mixer in proven quality. The 4 × 4 audio interface, the very good microphone preamps, and the good sounding effects processor are the highlights of the equipment. The rear panel of the ZED10 FX hosts the IEC mains power inlet, as well as a recessed switch to alter the output level.
