The frequency of shaving, the coarseness of your beard, and regular cleaning and lubrication will have a major impact. So if you’ll be using a cleaning station with your solo Series 9 shaver, the paint below the head could chip in time. The damage will only be visual though. During the drying phase, the S9 PRO+ shaver won’t charge — the charging will only resume once the drying is done. I personally would get one of the 9390cc/9385cc or even a 9370cc since the price of these is not significantly higher compared to the solo models:

I’m tempted by the Braun charging Case (for holiday use), the 5-year warranty (in Switzerland we will get it) and the hope of a better performance under the nose and on my side burns. But my experience with the series 3 was not good and I’m now really into the technique of shaving with a rotary. I’ve constantly said that for most users, shaving dry with a Braun razor will probably be the best compromise in terms of closeness, comfort, (minimal) prep work and cleaning. We do not know how the manufacturer came up with 18 months, but I will assume that their testing methodology was based on light use and ideal conditions. I did however notice that the S9 Pro is a bit louder and feels somewhat faster when shaving (the motor is still a 10000 oscillations per minute unit though). Other stations use inductive heating and a fan (like Panasonic) which is more effective than only one or the other.
