This page is a bit of a personal indulgence. Its
really just some links and embedded content of things
found on the internet that are worth sharing.
One of my favourite websites is VIMEO. Its a place you
can find some very nice videos, a sort of quality You
Tube. Seriously there are some gems on Vimeo. Some make
you feel happy, some make you think and some make you
sad. Here are a few of my current favourites.
What a wonderful story this is. I wish they would show
it on TV at the end of the evening news.
This version of 'House Of The Rising Sun' has been made
using old computer hardware as instruments. I just love
the scanner sounds.
One of my favourite contributors to the Vimeo website is
Bill Newsinger.
Bill has a terrific talent for producing video.
My grandson George love's to throw stones in the stream
that runs through the fields at the bottom of our road.
What a nice area we live in.
75-year-old Ray Ives has been scouring the seabed for
treasure his whole life. The former commercial diver has
plundered the deep for over fifty years, bringing to the
surface anything that glittered -- even gold.
I made this short video of the French Pyrenees whilst on
holiday this year. It's very hard to capture the vast
beauty of the mountains with a camera, it just doesn't
compare to being there.
A young boy moves to a new neighbourhood and falls in
love for the first time, with the much older girl next
door.
Solihull 'Race For Life' - June 26th 2011
There is something really encouraging in this video. It
shows one of the most important things in life, the love
of family and friends.
Shows what you can do with the right idea and
imagination. Nice
Cornwall in Spring 2011. Music is 'Dreamland' by Zero
Project.
If you like the music visit
www.zero-project.gr/zero-project.html where you can
listen to and download complete albums.
I don't often like watching this type of animation but
this is just beautiful.
A nice video of nearby Hockley Heath made for John
Shepherd
I had a few days camping in Snowdonia to 'Chill Out'
(it was very chilly indeed at night). Took lots of
photos but not much video. This is one of the few
things I shot en route at Carrog a lovely little place
on the banks of the river Dee just the other side of
Llangollen.
This video of French band YELLE is quite infectious
after you've heard it a few times. My one year old
Grandson likes it as well :) Album 'Safari Disco Club'
is out 14th March on I-tunes.
This was shot on one heck of a camera. Wouldn't want
to clean the hotel room after him though.
This is a great film about a trip to the wilderness.
Can't really see these two on a club 18-30 holiday. I'll
stick to Snowdonia this is a bit too isolated for me!
I hate 'wasting' my day off so hopped on a train to
London to visit the Wallace Collection and Greenwich.
Took lots of photos and a few videos along the Thames on
the way back to the station. These are a few of the
video clips. Music is 'Georges Waltz' by Shigeru
Umebayashi.
Small Pleasures by MovieTeller
If you have ever watched the movie 'Amélie' and enjoyed
it then you will like this short story from Greece. Oh
and the story.... well its spot on.
This is a bit like the old song
about the barrel of bricks (The Bricklayer's Lament - by
Gerard Hoffnung). A great job by Bob Lorrimer who
has made a number of interesting short video's. See

There's a fine line that
separates insanity from adrenalin sports and this video
shows just how fine the line is. I wouldn't bother
trying to get travel insurance if you'll be
'wingsuit basejumping' on holiday.
If you like this take a look at

Wow, what a terrific video incorporating 3D
photographs.
This was shot in a desert during a meteor shower.
There are just so many stars in the sky but you don't
get to see them with all the light from towns and
cities. How different things would have been a hundred
years ago.
I find it hard to explain why I like this so much
but I do. Isn't it funny how the simplest childhood
memories stay with you through your entire life.
Another stunning video by Metron. What makes it even
more interesting is the
write-up and photographs
about how it was made. Feeling down - watch this video,
it has to make you feel better!
This superb short film by Marcos Efron has it all,
drama, tension and beauty all rolled into one.
Oscar, a good kid who has never had a reason to be
in detention, until now. How did he come to get
detention? Lets find out....
Nicely made short story about Alzheimer's an
increasingly common ailment.
Its not just the loss of memory here but the little
things like not appearing to care if what is said
offends. I think I'm heading this way so may I apologise
now for those I offend in years to come.
This animated video by Kirsten Lepore is beautifully
made. I hope you enjoy watching it as much as me.
