Jubilee Party In The Park

Despite the change in the weather as so often on Bank Holidays the party was still on. Heavy rain was forecast for the evening so plan B was called into action and the Village Hall was used to stage the live music events, Zumba dancing and DJ. Extra equipment was brought in to relay the events outside. Streams of bunting and lighting were used to decorate the area inside and out.
The Lord Mayor and Mayoress of Solihull came and judged the Children’s Fancy Dress Competition and all the children received a medal. Afterwards the two winners joined with the Mayor to open the Jubilee Garden. Before the rain set in the Children’s Tug ‘o’ War, Egg and Spoon, Football, Bouncy Castles, Children’s Rides and Crowns Competition all went ahead as planned and many hundreds braved the weather and brought picnic chairs and tables determined to enjoy the evening. We were entertained by two live bands, Young and enthusiastic, Voltage, made up of Tom, Charlie, Ethan and Iggy performed to a packed hall and went down really well followed by the brilliant ‘Mixer’ who entertained us well into the night. There was more music and entertainment from Emma of Zumba Fitness who got everyone dancing followed by the DJ’s.
Despite the weather the event to celebrate the Queens Jubilee was a very well attended and went on as planned between 5pm and midnight.
On a personal note the whole evening added to what I know already.
What a terrific place Cheswick Green is to live.
