Posted: 13 Jan 12 12:13pm I have never posted a film review before but can I recommend one of the best I have seen. War Horse is Steven Spielberg's heart-warming epic of adventure and loyalty between man and horse during World War One. Most defiantly worth the effort to go and see this film. BRILLIANT!!!! Ian

Posted: 09 Jun 11 11:28am If your into 'techy' things this is a good buy. Argos are selling the Sony BDP-S380 Blue Ray Disc player for 69.99. I didn't really need the BlueRay player as I seldom buy DVD's but what this also has is Internet TV. Watch previously broadcast BBC programs on the big screen with the iPlayer or You Tube videos and lots more. Or connect a USB hard drive or memory stick and play downloaded videos, pictures or music. You need an ethernet connection to view online content but a 20m cable can be got from Amazon for 2.28. Ian

Posted: 03 Apr 11 09:43am The exciting news that something is to be done with the stonework that stood in the grounds of 194 Creynolds Lane as part of the VC Memorial Garden that existed over 100 years ago has promoted me to look at some of the old maps I have on CD's up in the loft. I've tried to show how Cheswick Green has developed over the past 100 years and added a link above 'History'. I'm not an historian and am not even sure of the exact dates of the maps but there plenty of scope for using this website to gather more information and display it in a way that is easy to see and understand. I would like to expand on this greatly over the coming months so if you have any information or images that can be used to build up a picture of our local history please get in touch. ian@cgra.org.uk Ian Sill

Posted: 27 Mar 11 10:12am We are suffering spate of burglaries across the Borough using the letterbox method whereby a long cane or a fishing rod, through the letterbox is used to hook up the keys from inside the house and extract them through the letterbox. The answer again is very simple DON'T put keys anywhere they can seen through a letterbox and certainly not left in the door! you can also fit a letterbox guard costing a pounds or so and only need 2 screws !
