The first was taken opposite St Patricks Church in Salter Street and the second at Blythe Valley Park not far from the entrance on the Stratford Road and the last is St Patricks church. All thee were enhanced using 'Photoshop' to bring out shadows and colour. I'm afraid the quality is not to good as it is has been copied to VHS tape a couple of times before I was given a copy. The film shows the old buildings of the Mount Estate that were demolished during the building of Cheswick Green. Most of the film is shot around what is now Cheswick Way, Heron Close, Spinney Drive. It goes on to show the opening ceremony attended by the Lord Mayor in a marquee where the current Doctors Surgery and Shops now stand. You can see there was still a part demolished property from the original Mount Estate where the shops are now. Also the tall poplar trees now much reduced in size opposite the shops. Towards the end of the film it shows a fete/sports day organised by the residents being held on the recreation field. Video showing Party in the Park - July 2010 This years Party In The Park was a great success with record numbers attending. The weather was good and the Band 'Crazy Mustang' were terrific, they performed encore after encore, really good. A BIG THANKS to all those that stayed on to help clear up. There were lots of helpers this year and we got tidied away in record time. Slideshow showing our trip to Blackpool - October 2010 What a terrific day. Seventy seven of us boarded two coaches on Saturday morning and set off to Blackpool. Some headed for the thrills of the fair, some for trams to Lytham or Fleetwood and others the Tower and ballroom. The weather was glorious and a great time was had. Once again Johnson's Coaches provided the transport and were brilliant. The day started at 9.45 when we gathered outside the surgery with bags loaded with sandwiches, crisps and the odd bottle of wine. We arrived at Blackpool at 1.30 with instructions to be back at the coach for 7pm prompt - sorry we were a bit late back (and it was us giving the instructions). Still we arrived home at 11pm as planned. Looking forward to the next trip - Where to next time I wonder? Earlswood Lakes - Autumn 2010 |
