May 1971 Newsletter

Don Smith a founder member of the Association has been in touch and sent this copy of the Residents Association newsletter from May 1971.
There was news from Salter Street Scouts, hopes for a Primary School in Cheswick Green, a Recipe for Shortbread, a recommendation to submit plans for porches and extensions to the property free Holders as well as the council and complaints of dogs roaming Cheswick Green.

Many thanks for taking the trouble to photograph and email these pages Don.

  1. Interesting to see that the names of all committee members are shown, as well as a contact number for each…………… just saying……..

  2. On this we agree Steve. I personally think its good to have contact details for committee members as we had in the past. You will find mine on the Contacts Page.

  3. Thanks, Ian, I’m glad we can agree on something.
It always struck me as odd that yours is the only public-facing and publicly funded organisation where residents don’t know who is representing them. I partly understand why some may not want there name publicised, but if they want secrecy, maybe they shouldn’t have joined.
