Description

If you craft a bot at Excellent quality, then later your skill increases enough that you're able to craft those bots at Artisan quality, you can spend scrap to upgrade Excellent->Artisan. This applies to all different quality levels, one step at a time. Traps: Toss 'em on the ground or wall and when an enemy walks into them (or if you can manage to shoot them), kaboom! There are 4 Tinkering-specific traps Flame, Freeze, Sleep, Teleportation, as well as mundane Bear Traps (floor only). A full and comprehensive knowledge of sheet metal press tools, pattern and model manufacture through working for BMW/Rover Group. In its Series 7 qualifier, Gyrobot fought an invertible box-shaped robot, Terror Turtle, and Fluffy. After sustaining early damage from Fluffy, Gyrobot played a tactical fight, avoiding the action while accelerating its rim spinner. Once Fluffy had become immobilised, Gyrobot took the opportunity to cause damage to its opponents, and pushed Terror Turtle into the arena wall. Although Gyrobot lost the use of its spinner, it and Terror Turtle were the only robots with full mobility at the end of the battle, and Gyrobot was declared the winner of the battle, qualifying for the Seventh Wars. Fluffy and Terror Turtle also qualified alongside it.

There is a robot listed in the Honourable Mentions of the Combat Robot Hall of Fame, by the name of Gyrobot. However, it is not this machine, nor is it related, as it is an antweight class machine. By constructing the robot and performing the experiments with the motorised gyroscope unit, young engineers can learn about the science of gyroscopic devices and the indispensable role they play in our lives. Gyrobot first entered the design and build phase in December 2000, with an initial view to entering Series 5. Early CAD drawings suggest that interchangeable weapons (including a cluster of four smaller cutting discs) and conventional two or four-wheel drive systems were considered at various points during its development. The speed of the outer ring was also considerably slower at 250rpm (500rpm when the robot was spinning), a third of the maximum achievable with the Series 7 incarnation. [6] Dev's initial post on the skill is here: http://turningwheelgames.com/blog/2019/10/tinkering-skill-preview There is also a corner brush meant to clean any hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, and the wide dual brushes are designed to not be tangled with any pet hair, too.Gyrobot was the only robot in Series 7 from Wiltshire, originating from Swindon. In fact, it was the only robot from Wiltshire to compete after Series 3. It was also one of five robots on Robot Wars to be from Wiltshire. NOTHING, until you find a Tinkering Kit, so that might take a while unless your character starts with one. When you find them, they seem to be in Decrepit condition most of the time, so make repairing the kit one of your priorities once you reach a high enough skill! Toss this box down and it simply makes noise and attracts nearby creatures. The noise only lasts for a few seconds, then this box will either break (straight to broken from Excellent) or deactivate. Gyrobot has occasionally been on display at the Museum of Computing in Swindon. It currently resides in Steve Wood's garage. It's a tiny helicopter! Activate these guys, and they'll follow you around and have a whole bunch of cool options:

Separate from both Traps and proper Robots, Noisemakers have only one set quality. When cast out by the player, it begins playing a noise to attract nearby monsters to its location, with the ability to inflict confusion once enemies reach it. Can break after finishing its song. Gyrobot was the only newcomer in Heat B of Series 7. It was also the only robot in that heat not to lose in the first round of a UK Championship. Major subcontractor on two NHS SBRI funded projects which successfully reached stage 2 funding " Diabetic Foot Ulcer"and " Child Health - Restoring Function". You are restricted in how many bots you can have deployed at a time. At Tinkering level 60, you can have 6, the next tier is 8, and at 100 you can have 10. I liked to have 3 gyrobots following me, and 7 turrets deployed in the starting room usually. After Gyrobot's first round battle, the battle board incorrectly listed it as one of the robots that were eliminated, instead of Killerkat.
